Battery Status

Especially in businesses with a lot of traffic and strict sanitary regulations like restaurants, checking the battery on a regular level is really important. GROHE offers an easy way to manually check the battery status so that batteries can be re-ordered in advance.

Checking the battery status

  1. Cover around 80% of the sensor with your thumb.
  2. The diode lights up briefly and then flashes.
  3. Only when the light of the diode flickers, take the thumb away.
  4. Now a slow flashing follows, the number of flashes indicate the battery level.

4x flashing corresponds to over 60% capacity, 3x flashing over 40%, 2x flashing over 20% and 1x flashing below 20% of the battery capacity.

Low battery

  1. If the battery is very low, the indicator light in the sensor will flash.
  2. In this case, simply unplug the cable, replace the battery and reconnect the cable.

In buildings such as airports where the usage is very high GROHE recommends that a power supply should be installed instead of a battery pack.

Ending the battery check

  1. After the battery capacity check, the continuous run for thermal disinfection automatically begins.
  2. Caution: Risk of scalding! Check if the temperature lever of the tap has accidentally been set to "hot"!
  3. To end the thermal disinfection prematurely, simply place your finger back on the lower part of the sensor.
  4. The diode then gives off a long flash, after which the thumb can be removed from the sensor again and the continuous run is finished.

Next: Initiating thermal disinfection.
