Bau Cosmopolitan E Overview
Infrared sensors

This is how it works

The GROHE Bau Cosmopolitan E uses an infrared sensor with a straight sensor angle. With its sensor, the tap detects an object and converts it into a readable signal.

This is how it works
A transmission diode constantly emits light pulses in the infrared range.

If the user’s hands are within the IR range, the light pulses are reflected and converted into an electrical signal.

The signal triggers the valve to open. Depending on the electronic setting, the water starts to flow.

As soon as the hand leaves the sensor range, the diode no longer detects an object and the solenoid valve closes.

Power for years to come

To guarantee for low power consumption resulting in a long battery life, GROHE uses a bistable magnetic valve for the infrared taps: It only needs one short electrical pulse to open and close the valve. So even with approx. 150 opening or closing impulses per day, the battery lasts up to 7 years.

Design

Elegant and smart

Bau Cosomopolitan E offers you a perfect combination of the most modern design and convenient functions. The minimalist temperature control on the side of the tap blends perfectly with the sleek lines and elegant profile, giving the tap a truly contemporary, modern look.

Made in Germany

First class efficient manufacturing

The touchless tap technology costs more than a standard one-hand mixer. But the investment pays off, because it reduces water consumption and cleaning effort. GROHE faucets are manufactured in our own production facility in Germany. They are available in different price ranges without compromising on quality.

Multi-layered composite polymer construction

Robust and resistant

The body of our GROHE Bau Cosmopolitan E is made of a special compound of two different materials: the outer component is ABS and the inner component is drinking water approved polycarbonate. ABS is widely known for its use in motorcycle helmets and door handles for cars: objects that are known for their robustness, durability and security. Our composite polymer is proven to meet the same requirements as a brass or zinc die-cast tap. Its surface is just as resistant to acid cleaning agents and scratches.

What is the average flow rate of the Bau Cosmopolitan E?

At GROHE, saving water is one of our most important goals: This is why we invented thr GROHE EcoJoy technology. But what do you think is the actual flow rate in liters per minute?
