Hands-on or remote?

The GROHE Bau Cosmopolitan E comes with seven preset programes, covering the most common use cases. Other settings can be adjusted via the optional remote control.

Hands-on or remote?
Cleaning mode

Cleaning mode

To clean the tap and the area around the tap you can activate the cleaning mode. It deactivates the tap 3 minutes so the waterflow does not disrupt your cleaning.

Automatic flushing

To prevent stagnation and bacteria build-up in the pipes, an automatic flushing function can be activated. With it, the tap and pipes are automatically flushed with water. You can set the flushing interval and the runtime, and you can choose whether the automatic flushing should be usage-dependent or usage-independent.

Automatic flushing

Usage-dependent

Usage-dependent automatic flushing flushes the tap after the set time period after the last use: If the interval is set to 24h, the tap flushes exactly 24 hours after the last use. If water is used in before the interval is ended, a new interval starts.

Usage-independent

In the case of "usage-independent" the tap always flushes after the set time has elapsed. Think about a doctor practice: Here, the tap might always flush at 6 o'clock, so that no stagnant water is tapped for the patients.

Thermal disinfection

Thermal disinfection

In order to eliminate harmful germs in the pipes, thermal disinfection can be carried out regularly in public buildings. And even in a private household, it is a good way to clean the piping system after your summer holidays abroad. You can perform thermal disinfection for a defined period of time, meaning that the piping systems are flushed with approximately 70 °C hot water to eliminate germs.

Usage data insights

Usage data insights

If you want to check data on water consumption and thermal disinfection cycles, the GROHE remote control comes into its own. User data can be easily retrieved, which can be very useful for verification purposes, for example to authorities. Even if, for example, the battery of your tap runs out prematurely, you can check the opening and closing cycles of the valve and see if everything is working normally.

Applying profiles

When you are setting up multiple touchless fittings in one project, you can save the settings of a fitting as a profile on your remote control and then apply these settings to another tap. That will save you time.

Adjustable detection area

Adjustable detection area

The detection area of GROHEs infrared tap can be adjusted with 20 different levels. So if the water flow starts even though the hands are not under the outlet yet, you can fine-tune the detection area to your needs using the remote control.

Customize run time

After the hand has left the detection range of the sensor, the water can continue to run for a certain time to flush the basin or stop immediatly to save water. With the GROHE remote control, its easy to adjust the water run time to your preferences.

Easy battery check

Easy battery check

GROHE offers an easy way to manually check the battery status so that batteries can be re-ordered in advance.
